What is an ETL safety listing?

The ETL Mark is proof of product compliance to North American safety standards. Authorities Having Jurisdiction(AHJs) and code officials across the US and Canada accept the ETL Listed Mark as proof of product compliance to published industry standards. Retail buyers accept it on products they’re sourcing.

Is ETL UL Listed?

The difference between ETL Listed and UL Listed is that ETL means a product was tested and approved by Intertek Testing Services (formerly Edison Testing Laboratories), and UL means it was tested and approved by Underwriters Laboratories. Both are Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories.

How do I view ETL files?

The easiest way is probably to open the ETL file in Event Viewer. Click Start, then type Event Viewer and open the Event Viewer utility. Then click Action > Open Saved Log and navigate to C:\Windows\Logs to open the ETL file you’re interested in.

What is an ETL control number?
